Before the Fundraiser Starts

  • Kickoff Meeting: Take 10 minutes to explain the fundraiser to athletes and/or parents — show them your team’s page and goal.

  • Set a Clear Goal: Teams that set a specific dollar target and date tend to raise 2–3× more.

  • Email us a Team Photo to add to your page: Pages with photos see higher sponsor engagement.

  • Designate a “Fundraising Captain”: Choose 1–2 players or parents to help remind teammates to share the page and thank sponsors.

📣 Promotion & Outreach Tips

  • Social Media Challenge: Encourage players to post their team link and tag local businesses — bonus points for a creative caption or photo.

  • Text Message Sharing: Parents and athletes can text the link directly to family or friends (“Hey Aunt Lisa — my team’s raising funds for new jerseys!”).

  • Utilize Personal Connections as well as Sponsor Assist: Encourage each athlete to personally secure 2–3 sponsors from family and friends they are closest with. Then have every athlete provide the names and email addresses for 10-20 additional potential sponsors using Sponsor Assist and let us reach out to them on their behalf.

  • Make Time for Athletes to Provide Contacts: Set aside 10 minutes before a practice for athletes to upload potential sponsors into Sponsor Assist using their phone / computer.

💡 During the Fundraiser

  • Progress Updates: Post short updates (“We’re halfway to our goal!”) to keep momentum high.

  • Encourage Friendly Competition: The live tracking on your team page shows what athlete brought in each sponsorship. Offer a small prize for the athlete(s) who bring in the most sponsors (example. Amazon Gift Card).

  • Mid-Fundraiser Push: Around day 10–14, encourage everyone to share again with a new message or update.

  • Thank-You Messages: Ask each player to personally thank their sponsors (email, text, or social media shout-out).

🎉 After the Fundraiser

  • Final Post: Announce your total raised and tag sponsors to publicly thank them.

  • Banner Reveal: Share a photo or video when the banner arrives — sponsors love seeing their logo in action.
